Are you passionate about promoting STEM development-focused stories using emerging technologies, and through visual, written, oral and digital media? Background

For us gatekeepers, the media plays a critical role in ensuring checks and balances between stakeholders and their citizens. They are essential in shaping how we learn, experience and perceive the world around us through stories, images, words, and motion pictures to ensure an effective communication.

Redefining the Ghanaian media space and empowering citizens.

The continent moves to the 4th industrial revolution, with emerging tools and technologies, as storytellers are now challenged to think of how to deploy new media technologies for citizen engagement to address the changing communications landscape. To ensure Ghana and West Africa remains in the race with the rest of the world, and benefit from digital transformation, the Science Journalism Ghana platform with Galaxy Aerospace Ghana invites you to apply for the second edition of Science Journalism Ghana Media Fellowship 2023/2024. The Fellowship brings together experts in the area of communicating science, innovation and technology to present under-reported stories that break-down stereotypes and create new narratives for the society We Want. The five months fellowship will pick qualified applicants who will pitch stories around these themes for selection

Eligibility

  1. Applicant must fulfil the following conditions:
  2. Be based anywhere in Ghana and West Africa.
  3. Have knowledge in  journalism or communication
  4. Must be able to produced at least one content on science or technology and innovation
  5. Applicants must write at least two stories a week.
  6. Aged between 20-35 years
  7. The participation of up-and -coming female journalists is strongly encouraged.
  8. A two- paged Resume or CV  with 500 words motivation on the above themes
